Long Distance Telephone Service
Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC has teamed up with TransWorld Network to offer members and nonmembers long distance telephone services. Calling family and friends across the United States has never saved families so much money. Call anytime, any day, same rate!
These services offer a number of advantages to customers:

Long distance as low as 4.9 cents/minute with a one-year term and Ebill paperless
Standard rate of 5.9 cents/minute
Personal “800 number” at 5.9 cents/minute

You do not have to be a UDWI REMC customer to sign up
How long will it take to have my service connected with TransWorld Network?
The service takes approximately seven to 10 business days. A welcome packet will be sent to each customer once the REMC has confirmation of the service connection from TWN.
Do I have to contact my current local and long distance provider to switch?
You do not have to contact your current long distance provider unless you have special contracts or commitments with them.
Can nonmembers of UDWI REMC sign up for this long distance service?
Absolutely! Nonmembers, as well as persons in other states**, can participate at the same rate by calling (877) 700-8400. (Note: ** Each participating state offers different rates per minute. Therefore, it is advised that they call TransWorld for details.
Are there any certain restrictions?
The rate applies to calls made from your landline telephone. The service does not work with cellular phones, pay phones, or collect calls.
Do the rates change between daytime calling and nighttime calling?
No. The rates are available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Will I be reimbursed if there are charges to change carriers?
Yes, but you need to send a copy of your switching charges to TransWorld Network to receive credit on your account.
Will I receive my long distance bill with my UDWI REMC bill?
No, you will receive a separate bill for your electric and long distance services.
