Surge Protection

Protect your home, appliances, and investments with our surge protection devices available for purchase at Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC. These devices help guard against destructive electrical spikes that can cost thousands in damages.

We have panel mount and meter-based surge protectors that provide additional protection against surges throughout the home. A 15-year limited warranty covers motor-driven appliances up to $1,500 per appliance and a maximum of $25,000 per residence. Motor-driven appliances include the following:

  • HVAC unit
  • stove
  • dishwasher
  • refrigerator
  • garbage disposal
  • freezers
  • washers and dryers
