Water Heater Incentives
Water heater incentives are contingent upon member agreement to have an energy management device installed on the equipment for a period of at least 6 months by a person or persons designated by the REMC.
New Homes *Free 40- or 52-gallon electric water heater. (80-gallon electric water heaters are available for $200.)
Existing Homes *$50 incentive for members purchasing a water heater at UDWI.
*PLEASE NOTE: Water heater must be paid for in-full at the time of receipt. Amount of incentive for energy management installation will be credited to member account after the energy management switch is installed.
Air Source Heat Pumps, Geothermal Systems, & Central Air Conditioning Incentives
Please note: All rebate requests must be received within 30 days of unit installation.
Energy management devices are recommended to be installed on heating and cooling equipment but not required to obtain incentives.
To obtain HVAC incentives, members should send a completed incentive application form and a copy of the final receipt to:

Geothermal Systems
New and Existing Homes - $1,500 incentive and a free 40- or 52-gallon electric water heater. (80-gal. water heaters are available for $200 with installation of a geothermal heat pump.)

Compact Fluorescent Lights
To help members manage their energy costs by increasing efficiency, UDWI offers free compact fluorescent lights to members replacing incandescent bulbs in their homes. CFL packages may be picked up in the UDWI office every 6 months.
