UDWI REMC Member Appreciation Day Canceled Due to Power Outages
BLOOMFIELD, Ind. (June 19, 2025)— Due to the severe thunderstorms and high winds that swept through the service territory, Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC must cancel its annual Member Appreciation Day, scheduled for Friday, June 20.
On Wednesday evening, June 18, a severe storm rolled through the area, knocking down power lines and causing widespread outages in the UDWI REMC service area. With over 4,000 members without power, UDWI crews worked through the night to replace damaged poles and restore members’ power.
Today, crews and UDWI employees continue to work around-the-clock, dedicating all resources toward storm-damage repair.
UDWI REMC would like to thank all members for their understanding and continued support throughout this time as the cooperative continues to stay focused on the safety of our members and crews. UDWI plans to reschedule Member Appreciation Day later this summer.
