Remittance Address Change FAQs
1. Why did you change the remittance address?
- We contracted a processing center— with which we had a previous business relationship with through our software provider— to serve multiple purposes including lowering operational costs, improving member payment privacy, and strengthening cybersecurity.
2. How does this change benefit me as a member?
- Rather than upgrading the old system, which would have been very costly, we chose to switch the remittance address, saving our members’ money and putting those funds towards providing improved electrical services to our members.
3. Are you closing the drive-thru?
- No, we are not closing the drive-thru. Our goal is to improve efficiency and enhance the member experience.
4. Is my payment process still the same?
- Yes! Your payment process remains the same. The only change is that you will need to send payments to the updated address for future payments.
5. Will I have any issues if I accidentally send a payment to the old address?
- Absolutely not. Any mail that is sent to the Post Office box will still be processed by someone here in the Bloomfield office, who will be on the lookout for mail sent to the old address as we make this change.
6. Do I need to update my bank bill pay information?
- No, there’s no need to make any changes. Payments made through your bank’s bill pay are still being sent to our PO Box in Bloomfield, and that will remain the same.
7. Can I use other payment methods?
- Yes, you can also pay over the phone (credit/debit card or E-check) or in-person at our office.
Discuss other payment options: We can process a payment over the phone using a credit/debit card or an E-check. We can process in-person payments if that is preferred. If someone writes the PO Box 427 on their envelope and pays the postage, we will process the payment here in the office.
